Watch cyberbully Online Free In this one-off drama film, Maisie Williams, of Game of Thrones fame, plays Casey, a teenage girl who is targeted by a cyber bully. The thriller definitely delivered, and was gripping throughout and genuinely frightening. The writers (Ben Chanan and David Lobatto) did a great job at giving viewers a storyline that kept up the tension levels throughout, as well as delivering an important message about the things we put and say online. The whole of this drama, which was just over an hour, was set entirely in the bedroom of the main character Casey. Maisie Williams is the only person on screen for the majority of the show, with small appearances from her friends at the start. Although this is a big task for a young actor to undertake, I was confident that Maisie Williams could deliver, having seen her fantastic acting elsewhere, and I was not disappointed. 

She successfully showed all the different layers to her character so that we saw her as a well-rounded character. Casey is spunky, sarcastic, intelligent, perhaps naive and ultimately extremely brave, all of which Williams conveyed perfectly and in the emotional scenes, Williams was completely credible. Although teenagers can often be written and performed in a way that feels false, the dialogue in this was genuinely reflective of young people’s speech today. Also, Maisie Williams delivered the lines in a way that completed her character’s believability. Casey did not feel like a teenager written by adults, and Cyberbully did not feel like the sort of awkward movie that is shown in schools to educate children about the dangers of the Internet. Of course, this could be due to the fact that Maisie Williams served as a helping hand to writers, ensuring dialogue and text was realistic, but this only helped. I definitely think other writers should take note and try do the same with their young cast members. This felt like a real girl who was suffering with a very relevant issue. Similarly, I often get annoyed at seeing how text messages, online messages and social networking is represented on film. Often, they appear obtrusively on the screen or unrealistically, but Cyberbully approached it in the best way possible in my opinion. Everything was just as it is in real life, and it meant that ugly dialogue boxes on my television screen didn’t distract me. The issue of cyberbullying and hacking is itself a pertinent issue. Apart from ordinary people like Casey, cyberbullies and trolls target everybody from celebrities to large companies. However, I think that this drama did a fantastic job at showing the real extent of cyberbullying and its intrusiveness. Cyberbullying does not, as is widely thought, only take the form of sly comments online. Despite that being cruel and traumatic enough, this film also showed the use of hacking, threats, leaking pictures and other personal files. The hacker had complete control over Casey’s laptop and phone, 

could see everything that she was doing and used this power to threaten her, which made me at home feel terrified and like I never wanted to open my laptop again. However, something that made this drama stand out for me was that Casey was not presented as a completely innocent party; she was being targeted for her role as a cyberbully, even if she didn’t see herself as one. She was dismissive of the things she herself had done online, and in the comments that are thrown about carelessly by other Internet users without realising the harm they had caused. It was a brilliant twist which makes you think about what you post online and the snowball-effect that a mean comment, share or upload can have. Cyberbully was, although short, tense and scary, brilliantly written and performed. The writers delivered an important message about cyberbullying and trolls without making me feel like I was in a lesson at school and Maisie Williams was realistic and likable as Casey. She succeeded in a role that, considering she had no other cast members to ‘bounce off’ for much of the time, could have stomped many actors, even older.
