Last weekend I had the privilege of seeing a screening of the independent film love white people, and for the most part it lived up to all its hype. Dear White People Movie Box Office 2014 The starting point for the film follows Samantha White, Dear White People Movie Box Office 2014 Tessa Thompson, an outspoken member of the campus of the University, who played part of the radio name of the movie. It comes in various positions of power on campus, including the president of the Black Student Union and the head of the house in all black dorm. Because of their new influence he and his classmates try the social, societal and racial pressure on them in the Union in the majority navigate and America great institution knows located.
My thoughts
D.W.P. is a brilliant satire. The writing and plot are smart. Rights of sexual minorities, biracial identity
feminism, classism, colorism, and much more: through the characters the audience on the perspective of young people, dealing with intersectionality darkness and other things, is such as exposed. The film set the majority of the white body actually mimics the parameters of race in America. What I like the good white people that went there. 'Movie was so much more attributable moments you crawl in your seats. For example, if Lionel Higgins "which played by Tyler James Williams, was an African" made Zoo. "Or if Troy
Fairbanks, played by Brandon P. Bell, a white fraternity brothers to explain why they did not say that the N-word. Or if Coco, after Teyonah Harris, blogs is played, he is not even that dark skin. Much like his predecessor surprisingly School Daze or Different World, DWP will rise to the occasion and integrated social pressure inside and outside of minority groups .
A few common sense
One aspect that I do not like is the film that it does not take much to other minorities. Dear White People reflects the reality of racism in America, and one of the greatest injustices in America is black / white issue of slavery and its consequences turns. But I believe that the film is able aspects of other ethnic groups, such as Latino / Hispanic community and the Asian community to integrate. I truly believe that the discussion of race is not only black and white
but also to other racial groups experience similar if not worse injustices in America.
Your point is?
2014 is the perfect time for a movie like love white people, because granted it, we do not live on race in America, but subtly racist one. In some ways, the movement of a new model of racism is worse than our parents before positive action in the world, and quite different from our grandparents explicitly racist Jim Crow era. Race in America is worse on standards because we do not dare to recognize its existence.
Competition is always the elephant in the room. But our silence we erode the attitude of prejudice and ignorance will remain off. Dear White people do an excellent job showing the social pressure within the minority racial and existential pressure on minorities in America down. There is no such thing as post-racial America. The refusal to talk about racism does not mean that it is lost. In fact, silencing of these questions allows institutional racism is the schools, immigration, laws, police brutality, etc. Promote Moreover, those who have these irregularities do not speak not with the silence were outlawed. Dear white people and other media, as it gives us the opportunity to create a dialogue about race. And I hope that this dialogue to promote understanding of the mindset of race relations.
Bottom line
Rating trailer below and check out the good white people in the movie theaters this fall on 17 October 2014 by the sound of your cringe worthy Dear White People moments in the comments, or by this article on the social media with the hashtag # your point being. As always, thanks for reading.
